Description

Three full-length second chances stories from three New York Times best sellers

Say I’m Yours

I spent 20 years waiting for Trent Hennington to open his eyes and see me. But it was all for nothing. He chose to keep himself guarded and let me walk away, proving that my time and efforts were wasted. I’m done being invisible. It’s time to move on. A single dance sets my new reality into motion, and I welcome it. After all, Cooper Townsend is perfect. He’s kind, sexy, and attentive - everything a girl could want. I thought I got it right this time. That my heart could mend, and I would be happy. Apparently, some things really are just too hard to walk away from.

Beautiful Mistake

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar. He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out. When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight - telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend - smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done. Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant. Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy. Oops. My mistake. Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology. I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right? That’s what I thought...until I walked into class the next morning. Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant. I’ll be working under you...figuratively speaking. Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing - working under Professor West. This was going to be interesting.

Drunk Dial

It seemed like a good idea at the time. Look up Landon Roderick, that boy from childhood whom I’d never been able to forget - even though he so easily forgot about me - and call him. Then again, anything sounds like a good idea when you've had a little too much wine before bed, right?

It was supposed to be just a quick, meaningless, prank call. Instead, I went off on him - unloading 13 years of pent-up emotions. I didn't think he'd call me back. I certainly could never have anticipated the weeks of sexually tense phone conversations that followed as I got to know the man he'd become. Turned out, Landon had never really forgotten me, either. That special connection we had was still there. I opened up to him, but there were also things about me he didn't know. And he had his own secrets. Over the countless hours we talked on the phone, I wondered what would happen if we actually saw each other. One night, I did something impulsive again.

Good Read

Good narratives. "Drunk Dial" I found very predictable, "Say I'm Yours" was good but the best was "Beautiful Mistake".

Three different stories. Three different feeling.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beautiful Mistake- Best of the three. Narration perfect, story perfect 👌.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Drunk Dial- Andi is fantastic. Story was also great. 👍.
⭐️ Say I’m Yours- Sorry the fake ascents threw me. The story was just ok.🤏

Two Good Books, One Dud

The narration for all three books was, of course, wonderful. Sebastian York and Andi Arndt phenomenal
Say I’m Yours by Corinne Michaels is great. I have read her other books before and enjoyed them.
Beautiful Mistake is the first book I’ve read by Vi Keeland. I thought it was a fun read. I may check out a few other of her titles.
I wanted to but I just could not make it through Drunk Dial. The premise of the plot is cute. I just could not connect with either of the two main characters. The male love interest seems like a total jerk. I can’t speak for the way he behaves in the latter part of the book, as I will not be reading about it, but in the first part his behavior is just really unhealthy, creepy, narcissistic, and all around “douchy”. From the word go, I had no idea what the female lead saw in him. The author references very specific songs throughout the book which stuck out as distracting and strange, as they really did not add anything to the story. Perhaps this author has written other books that I would enjoy more. This particular book may appeal to some readers, just not me.

Two out of three

This group was an Audible special, three for one credit.

Say I’m Yours, Corinne Michaels. ⭐️ Terrible, I found myself shaking my head and doing some spectacular eye rolling. The characters were immature, needy and just plain annoying.

Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This saved the trio from a one star review. Actually a good story, a little graphic in spots, but to be expected. This story has a plot and steam.

Drunk Dial by Penelope Ward. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A long distance call leads to a relationship with eventually an HEA. Plenty of angst and drama along the way.

The narrators did a good job. Not sure it was worth the cost of a credit.

Awesome Awesome Awesome

All three were excellent but Drunk Dial was absolutely the best! As was the bonus surprise short story Dry Spell at the end.

Love them all!

I really love all these, but Drunk Dial is my favorite. The female protagonist in Drunk Dial is a really interesting character and love the way she was written and of course, top notch narration! Have listened to 3 of 4 of Corrine Michaels series about the Hennington brothers and they are all really good so far!

Fan-Friggin-tastic

I loved the 1st story. love both narrators. The romance, lust, sexy and funny thrown in.
The next few books read solely of one person...Andy Arndt.
Sebastian York is always delicious!😘

She is one of the best women narrators out there. I usually won't bother listening to a book, unless there are 2 reading, with equal reading time!!!
3 + books for 1. 😁

We are always so delighted and grateful when you gives us bonuse books or / stories.

THANK YOU!👍🏽👏🏽

This is a pretty good collection.

I borrowed this one from AUDIBLE ESCAPE mostly because I had been wanting to listen to "Drunk Dial."
Since I already have "Beautiful Mistake" and listened to it, this review is for "Drunk Dial" and "Say I'm Yours."
For both books, what I would like to say is that a biological parent is not necessarily the best parent and there is no need to cling to him/her or the idea that a biological parent is your true parent at all. All what matters is what we do with our own lives. It really doesn't matter who and what your biological parents are. This can also be said to foster parents, of course.
For the couple of "Drunk Dial," it is nice that they have the decency to admit their mistakes and started their lives all over again. I always think that there is nothing wrong about making mistakes. What's important is what we do with and learn from the mistakes we've made. I really respect and like people who have made a serious mistake and gotten over it. People without any mistakes or who think they don't make mistakes or cannot admit one's mistakes are so boring and shallow. Also, it is never late to do or try anything about the mistakes we've made even though it is impossible to undo them. In my opinion, mistakes make us stronger, wiser, and better people.
"Drunk Dial" is a wonderful audio book of solo narration. Recently so many of the romance novels are with duet narration but not all of them need that form, I think Ms. Arndt's this solo performance was almost perfect. I like and enjoy Ms. Arndt's male part narration very much, for other books with her narration, too.
For "Say I'm Yours," the couple wasn't that mature for their age, especially Trent. He behaves like he still is a teenager. I didn't see what is so good about him. He is not a man of deep consideration but he thinks he is right, presses his shallow, emotional opinion on other people and has his way. It was nice that Grace didn't let go of Trent at the time of tragedy but I doubt if he deserves that or not. Well, but that's Grace's choice and not mine at all.
Bonus track by Ms. Keeland was very good and enjoyable!

One great, one okay, one I couldn’t finish

The bonus at the end-the short-short was really funny. Just the kind of pay-back scenario that any woman dreams of.

I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 stories.

I beg to differ with all the negative reviews. These books were excellent. Loved the sexual tension and the plots were creative.
