Story
In the supernatural realms, there are creatures who belong to winter. I am not one of them. But like the coyote I can become at will, I am adaptable. My name is Mercy Thompson Hauptman, and my mate, Adam, is the werewolf who leads the Columbia Basin Pack, the pack charged with keeping the people who live and work in the Tri-Cities of Washington State safe. It’s a hard job, and it doesn’t leave much room for side quests. Which is why when I needed to travel to Montana to help my brother, I intended to go by myself.

Story
On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight.

Publisher's Summary
In this powerful entry in the number-one New York Times best-selling series, Mercy Thompson must face a deadly enemy to defend all she loves....
My name is Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman, and I am a car mechanic.
And a coyote shape-shifter.
And the mate of the Alpha of the Columbia Basin werewolf pack.
Even so, none of that would have gotten me into trouble if, a few months ago, I hadn’t stood upon a bridge and taken responsibility for the safety of the citizens who live in our territory. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. It should have only involved hunting down killer goblins, zombie goats, and an occasional troll. Instead, our home was viewed as neutral ground, a place where humans would feel safe to come and interact with the fae.
The reality is that nothing and no one is safe. As generals and politicians face off with the Gray Lords of the fae, a storm is coming, and her name is Death.
But we are pack, and we have given our word.
We will die to keep it.

One of the best of Patricia Briggs yet
I really enjoyed Storm Cursed, both the storyline and Lorelei King’s performance. For the story I enjoyed how the author is tying previous events together and creating a new threat to Mercy’s world. Lorelei’s performance of Patricia’s words is top notch, especially the scene where Mercy investigates Elizaveta’s basement. She very subtly flattens her voice and portrays such bleakness. It is definitely a book I will be listening to multiple times.

Meh.
The reader is kind of flat. Her voices are fine but she doesn't put much emotion into it. Story is okay. Not the strongest mercy book.

This one was not up to par
I have “listened” to Mercy for the past 10? years. This one lacked the urgency that one gets with this series...i am really hoping it a prelude to the next one.

Scariest one yet
I greatly enjoy how Patricia can combine faerie tales and the worst possible acts together and still keep it light and funny. This story is anchored in something that you could watch on CSI but the magic takes it to another level - again. Vulnerability and achilles heels all over the place make for GREAT story telling. And Loreli’s voice brings it to your ears with the skill that only she possesses. This duo is dynamite. Just like Adam and Mercy!

Good read
liked it but wasnt as consuming as her other stories of Mercy.
Too much re-inforcement to how Mercy does the things she does.
Could have been a novella type story!!

Patricia Briggs succeeds where so many flounder!
Ms. Briggs' characters meet life's challenges and their own supernatural circumstance with perseverance, strength, vulnerability and resolve in a relatable yet enviable way. She's avoided allowing them to become stuck in behaviours that make readers want to yell at them for and kept them interesting and growing in depth over the series.
Ms. King's narrative talents are always a joy to listen to and with the richness of the unfolding world Particia Briggs is creating for us in her stories, we are left wanting more at the end of each book.
