Publisher's Summary

I love him. And I’m pretty sure he loves me back...even though he’s straight.

When I first met Carter King, I knew he was something special. I imagined us being together, and we are, but only as friends. Best friends! I’m trying to be cool with that, even though I know he has secrets, and there have definitely been mixed signals. I don’t want a crush to ruin what we already have. Then again, if there’s any chance that we can be together, it’s worth the risk, because Carter could be the love of my life. Or he might be the boy who breaks my heart.

Straight Boy is Jay Bell’s emotional successor to his critically acclaimed Something Like... series. This full-length novel tells a story of friendship and love while skirting the blurry line that often divides the two.

not too bad

overall the story was good, not too enough "romance" in my opinion to call it that. no sex scenes described with detail was VERY disappointing, and I get it... it's called "straight" boy but also disappointing that they never end up together which I was hoping would happen. this story would be more suspense, maybe even thriller to me.. not romance. I do like he ended up with Lorenzo and not Jackson, he was nice but I feel he was just with Andrew because he felt connected by Andrew helping him come out and being someone to talk to.

extremely well written

Every gay man has crushed hard on a straight guy, and if straight boy looks like the cover id be crushing hard too. This book brought me through ranges of emotions from happy to downright scared. I didn't want to stop listening and had to find out what happened next. Kudos to Jay Bell for keeping me involved and bring me on that rollercoaster of emotions with him and every other reader/listener.

the story was engaging and very well written. I was a little annoyed at carter's voice though.
