power trough book 3
Book 3 is a set up for everything that happens in book 4, individually the first half of this story is pretty lame; While it has great moments it almost entirely focuses on introducing new characters, high-school romance, and setting the story for book 4
Book 4 more than makes up for it and it had lots of great and intense moments. I'll be immediately moving on to the next book as the story overall is greatly satisfying.

The only thing wrong it that the person doing the audio used the same voices for different characters so it’s hard to differentiate between them but he can’t really do much about that

A Great sequel
The school aspect is well done, the rivaliry between the school and Arthur is funny how every noble is jealous.The big plot is slowly revealing itself.

Disappointing Turn In The Story
I understand why many readers are not too happy with the direction this series chose to follow. There are a few questionable choices that the MC makes which resulted in a rather terrible ending. Book 3: Mainly followed the formula of the previous 2 books and the established rules and power levels of the world. The MC is just as powerful and wise for his age and we can see and predict the natural power progression for the character. I wasn't too happy with how the school was portrayed in general. It was too anime for me. The instructors seemed to be barely above the power levels of the students and the school had very poor systems in place to deal with fights amongst children. Also, I really hope that Tess will stop being the damsel in distress. I don't like interesting female characters to be dropped to such levels. Book 4: SPOILERS ahead This is where everything took a turn for the worse. The established power levels of the world basically became irrelevant as this worlds equivalent of demons and angels made their appearance. They are so strong that they can basically wipe out all the other races on the continent with little effort. Cultivation novels usually make progression known early and stick to it. You don't change up the world at the last second, it makes the progression in the other 3 books seem useless. There were also a little too many plot holes and abandoned plot points. For one, Tess was supposed to be better, but she wasn't. Arthur acquired some super elixir but then never used it. Arthur also made some astounding discoveries and never shared them with the ruling council, why? The villains and their motivations were vague and were introduced very poorly. This all accumulated in a rushed and nonsensical ending. Why were some of the most famous warriors in the kingdom so impulsive, emotional and dumb. I don't mind cliffhangers per se, I just hate bad cliff hangers. And this one was atrocious. Nevertheless, I will give book 5 a try. Hopefully some of these points are addressed.
