Publisher's Summary
Drizzt is back, and facing a world changed forever!
An uneasy peace between the dwarves of Mithral Hall and the orcs of the newly established Kingdom of Many-Arrows can't last long. The orc tribes united under Obould begin to fight each other, and Bruenor is determined to finish the war that nearly killed him and almost destroyed everything he's worked to build.
But it will take more than swords and axes to bring a lasting peace to the Spine of the World. Powerful individuals on both sides may have to change the way they see each other. They may have to start to talk. And it won't be easy.
This book wasn't just the next installment in the long-running saga of the famous dark elf, but the beginning of a bold new trilogy that will help change the face of the Forgotten Realms world forever.

New narrator is terrible. Where's Victor Bavine?
As far as I can tell, Audible cheaped out and instead of getting the narrator that voiced the last 19 books to read this one, they bought another company's audiobook.
I think I'll just read the remaining books, at least the ones not narrated by Victor Bavine. They should have gotten Victor for the remaining books. Big mistake.

Good book dry reading.
Not sure why Victor Pavine wasn't the narrator. he does a reat job. The narrator of this book is dry. Doesn't put any effort or emotion into the reading. I personally disliked the reading right off the bat. The book starts with a great action sequence but the narrator makes it sound like someone who doesn't like what is being read.

Dispicable
I honestly find it hard to fathom how Victor Bevine is the main voice actor for most of the books, and when you decide to use someone else for a few books for w. E reason. You choose some value mart wannabe, who clearly hasn't listened to any of Victor's renditions, and takes it upon themselves to completely alter voices drastically, and pronounce things so terribly that I can barely even understand what they are referencing. Just horrendous. I'd be skipping these books if the story wasn't so vital or there was another option with Victor. Terrible terrible terrible decision making on replacement voice actors. Maybe at least make sure the person is a fan of the series and had listened to previous renditions, that way when your audience is listening to a story 20 books in. They aren't cringing every other minute because the voice actor wants to change something so much I can't recognize who I'm listening to, or change the name of something to suit his weird preference. Completely disappointed, and dreading the rest of these 3 books I'm being forced to painfully listen to because the story is so good

missed the mark
as always the story is very good, but yet again they have hired a narrator who has a nice voice but simply reads the words with zero connection to or understanding of the story. why?

Good books, poor narration
I've enjoyed listening to these books on my commute to work. I don't have a whole lot of time to read them myself these days, so this has been a great way to go through this series. Once I heard the new narrator though, I knew these next three books were going to be rough. I don't understand how you take something so established, and completely change the way people talk, or change how names are pronounced. To top it off, it sounds like he hates reading it. Absolutely terrible, bargain bin quality work. These ones should be free.
