good

t was a solid procedural, though the characters could stand to develop better communication skills. The sketchy romance between the two protagonists gets maddening. And the thing with Edla-the-repellant was pretty cringeworthy.
The case was interesting, and the solution was a bit unexpected, with a final grim reveal at the end.
I like the introduction of the niece, who provides some comic relief, but I hate "perma-scowl." I feel like there has to have been a better translation than that stupid, cutesy, oft-repeated term.
But yeah, a pretty decent mystery.
