Catch up with Izzy, Erin, Baghead, and Delfino in the fifth volume in The Scattered and the Dead series.

Endings and beginnings. The road trip from hell continues as planned. Delfino shares revelations from his past as Baghead begins to recover from his injury. But there's a problem. They're being followed.

What drives people to destroy each other? And what drives some of them to survive and take care of one another no matter how dark things get?

Izzy and Erin stare these questions in the face. And after this, they'll never be the same.

Most interesting series of the genre

This review is for the whole series.

It is refreshing to dive into a post apocalyptic story that is not all about a hero ex military or similar, saving the world with all the guns they scavenge, for once.
The characters in The Scattered and the Dead could be you or me, with all their intricacies, emotions, thoughts, skills and minsets. They're all very different and all interesting.
The only oddity in there is why the zombies? They're pretty much insignificant and not really needed to make a great story.

*Loved the extraordinaire narration
So many voices and accents, perfectly rendered. Mr Boucher is fantastic. You can even get yourself convinced that an actual 18yr old girl is speaking.

*Loved the characters
The diversity of the multiple points of views of the story makes you never want to finish listening. I really hope that the authors have planned 10 more books.

* Loved the style
I enjoyed all the various timelines, and how sometimes characters cross each other's paths, without knowing it!
Some books are narrated in the first person, and some in the third. It really adds to the complexity of the whole universe of the Scattered.

Can't wait for the next book, because I've got to know what happens to Erin and Ezzy!
