Publisher's Summary

What is masculinity? Ask 10 men, and you'll get ten vague, conflicting answers. Unlike any book of its kind, The Way of Men offers a simple, straightforward answer - without getting bogged down in religion, morality, or politics. It's a guide for understanding who men have been and the challenges men face today. The Way of Men captures the silent, stifling rage of men everywhere who find themselves at odds with the overregulated, overcivilized, politically correct modern world. If you've ever closed your eyes and wished for one day as a lion, this book is for you.

Nothing groundbreaking.

Having read a lot of books with substantial amount of research, I found this book lacking in facts, and overflowing with opinions, exaggerations and vague statements that try to sound like some unique profound wisdom. Nonetheless I didn't disagree with much of a what the author had to say. I would maybe recommend this book to an introvert or someone trying to be more manly to make male friends.

A Great Book for Some Perspective

A very great book to add some perspective on how far we've come away from the men we once were as a whole. It takes struggle and hardship to build a man and although I agree with much of what he says, I see mostly opinionated rant over fact and optimism.

He not once talked about his routine or how "he" challenges himself to grow as a man, rather than calling our generation a bunch of sissies. (He's not wrong). This is a great book to lead into "hard Times Create Strong Men" by Stefan Aarnio.

Why friendship matters!

This book is a fresh overview and a splendid formulation of some old ideas and knowledge (I'd say of common sense even). Practically everyone acknowledges that men's friendship is different from women's. It is in men's nature to form group bonds, be it a sports team or a circle of friends, where mutual protection, strength, certain honor code and courage are ptesent. This "gang" becomes a source of life-assuring emotions, motivation and a driver for common growth.
At tought times there will be a necessity to work together with reliable people towards the common goal and, due to our physiological features, we (i.e. men) are the ones to do the "dirty", dangerous job. Thus, the network of ten men surpassess just a family unit. Also, Jack explores the major disturbing features of our modern society and how to address them. The book is a great asset for any man but also for any woman, wife or daughter. It is important to let both sides know why certain things are important, where the differences come from and why men's friends or "gang" has to be acknowledged by their female partners and relatives. In conclusion, we should act and build our own honest network of men, friends whom we can trust and respect. Recommended.

A good book to get you hyped to being a man

Narration was good as it was Jack Donovan who wrote the book. As he speaks you can tell he believes in what he is saying. Recommend this book

Awesome Get it

Wake up call. Get up and get down. Definitely helped me to pull my head out of ass and put it back on my shoulders. I love the tone, I love the narration and the connection of the words to the heart of the author. Well done brother, you have done a great service to men and women alike.

good start, started losing it at the end

The book started very interesting, actually answering the question of what is masculinity, and using a historic setting for it; however, it felt like it spiraled out of topic half way through, as the author complained about how society changed men from primitive creatures to technology dependent people today, but without actually explaining why he thought that was bad.
The narration is alright, some parts feel like they were recorded with a different microphone.

Modern lessons from ancient teachings

This book spoke to me in a way that a mentor would. It takes ways of life that used to be and applies it to current day examples. Listen carefully and reflect after each "lesson" and you'll be able to apply it not only in a "birds eye view" sense, but also apply it to everyday life. Essentially, this book will not only open your mind to current realities, it will, if given thought, allow you to change your perspective & approach towards institutions as well as people and better understand the "why" of things. Very informative and mind opening book.

Really makes you think

An interesting take on men and society. It hits home but can at times feel a bit extreme. 10/10 will read again

enlightening

I really enjoyed this book. But like any book there were parts that I didn't quite understand where the author was going. I did in short order. This books explains a lot of behavior tenancies and urges I have and acted upon. My wife is now reading this book to help her understand our son and myself as this book helped me understand my wife and daughter a bit more. Good job and thanks.
