Meet a genuine American folk hero cut from the homespun cloth of America's heartland: Sam Walton, who parlayed a single dime store in a hardscrabble cotton town into Wal-Mart, the largest retailer in the world. The undisputed merchant king of the late 20th century, Sam never lost the common touch. Here, finally, inimitable words. Genuinely modest, but always sure of his ambitions and achievements. Sam shares his thinking in a candid, straight-from-the-shoulder style. In a story rich with anecdotes and the "rules of the road" of both Main Street and Wall Street, Sam Walton chronicles the inspiration, heart, and optimism that propelled him to lasso the American Dream.

Robert Iger became CEO of The Walt Disney Company in 2005, during a difficult time. Competition was more intense than ever, and technology was changing faster than at any time in the company’s history. His vision came down to three clear ideas: Recommit to the concept that quality matters, embrace technology instead of fighting it, and think bigger - think global - and turn Disney into a stronger brand in international markets.

Description
Journalist Leander Kahney reveals how CEO Tim Cook has led Apple to astronomical success after the death of Steve Jobs in 2011.
The death of Steve Jobs left a gaping void at one of the most innovative companies of all time. Jobs wasn't merely Apple's iconic founder and CEO; he was the living embodiment of a global megabrand. It was hard to imagine that anyone could fill his shoes - especially not Tim Cook, the intensely private executive who many thought of as Apple's "operations drone".
But seven years later, as journalist Leander Kahney reveals in this definitive audiobook, things at Apple couldn't be better. Its stock has nearly tripled, making it the world's first trillion-dollar company. Under Cook's principled leadership, Apple is pushing hard into renewable energy, labor- and environmentally friendly supply chains, user privacy, and highly recyclable products. From the massive growth of the iPhone to lesser-known victories like the Apple Watch, Cook is leading Apple to a new era of success.
Drawing on access with several Apple insiders, Kahney tells the inspiring story of how one man attempted to replace someone irreplaceable and - through strong, humane leadership, supply-chain savvy, and a commitment to his values - succeeded more than anyone had thought possible.

Too disorganized for an audiobook
This book isn’t written chronologically, it jumps all around, tackling one item at a time, which may be okay as a physical hard copy, but as an audiobook is too difficult to follow. The narrator’s voice is good, and the book is easy to listen to in that way. Due to the significant amount of jumping around, this book becomes too easy to just zone out on, as it adds too much confusion. Furthermore, if you want a detailed look at Tim Cook as a leader and a person, you’re not really going to get it. The book opens with a bit of detail about Cook’s past, and then basically just turns into a list of things that have happened at Apple while Cook has been there, leaving it up to the listener to try and guess at what Cook was up to behind the scenes, and whether or not it was Cook who causes these developments or mostly just the people that were in place prior to him anyway.
All in all, I was very disappointed in this book, although it may be a decent read for readers who don’t follow Apple in the modern world or know much about Apple in the first place.

chronically and no story
If you are hoping to find some insight into who Tim Cook is or his leadership skills… it’s not here. There isn’t even a single interview with Tim or any other person working at Apple. It is a summary of the press releases. There are some great biographies and this isn’t one of them. Too bad really.

Promotion for Cook and Apple
This book reads like it was commissioned by Apple to promote its company and Cook. Super dry, boring and biased. Not recommended.
