Publisher's Summary

The instant New York Times best seller that reveals the collusion between Fox News and Donald Trump - with explosive new reporting covering the election and the January 6 riot.

As the nation recovers from the Trump presidency, many questions remain: Why was the COVID-19 pandemic so grossly mishandled? How did we get so politically polarized? What caused White nationalist groups to come out of the shadows, and are they here to stay?

The answers lie the twisted story of the relationship between Donald Trump and Fox News. Through firsthand accounts from over 250 current and former Fox insiders, CNN anchor and chief media correspondent Brian Stelter unlocks the inner workings of Rupert Murdoch’s multibillion-dollar media empire. The confessions are shocking: “We don’t really believe all this stuff,” a producer says. “We just tell other people to believe it.”

Stelter completes the story of the Trump years and looks toward the future of the network that made him. Hoax is a book for anyone who reads the news and wonders how we got here, and what happens next.

Incredibly Amazing

Best book on current events by far. Made it easier to understand the fuckshow we're all involved. Here we get a glimpse at the behind the scenes propaganda and fake news creators and enablers. The worst president in the history of Murica and Fu#k Fox News aka: The Trump Network! Great job and thank you for making it easier to comprehend reality. From Canada with Love

Better off reading the book

I found the author's reading of the book over dramatic. His exaggerated use of sarcasm became irritating initially, and I would have stopped listening except that the information was interesting, so I soldiered on.

Great book if you really listen.

I went into this book with an open mind and found that it was well written and factual. It may not be agreeable to all but the facts remain the same. I would recommend it to anybody with an open mind to see both sides.

Fascinating and disturbing

fascinating and disturbing is exactly what I felt. How we arrived here is clearer then before I listened.

it was no hoax

Thank you for writing this, once it is all in one place it is hard for any one to dispute the craziness everyone lived through. Even us Canadians.

Needs to improve impersonations

It's an interesting look inside the media. As a broadcaster myself, I am familiar with what goes on behind the scenes in news. Brian is well connected and gives readers/listeners an inside look. His raspy voice is a little trying at times, especially when he launches into impersonations of people. His Trump voice is no different than the dozens of other people he quotes.

This book will give you an inside into Fox and their manipulation of Trump.

This book is well written and easy to understand and follow. It delves into the Trump years in office, and the radicalization of Fox News and their following. There is inside information that will leave you to pick your chin up, off the floor. You cannot shut it off. There’s always more at every turn. Well done!

Chilling inside look at Fox

This book provides a complete insider view of Fox News’ mercenary objectives regarding its complete fealty to Trump. Brian Stelter gives a easy, real but professional narration. I can honestly say if a good book is narrated by the writer, who luckily knows narration because he’s a broadcast professional, I’m in listening heaven!
