A sorrow has taken root in my heart, and although it hurts every day I know there is a place where we laugh together under an open sky. To that sanctuary, I am travelling. This is that story. Stanley Park is a collection of 35 poems from parables author Sapphira Olson charting the story of two lovers through history as they are separated and then reunited all within the island of Stanley Park in Vancouver. Olson weaves a beautiful and poignant narrative through a progression of emotional poetry taking the listener on a journey of hope driven by love.

This is a book about who I was and who I am. About pain and depression and suicide and regrowth. It's about hope and living a future you didn't expect to live. More specifically, it is about my suicide attempt in 2019, after years of struggling with alcoholism, depression, and self-harm. It's about my second chance and making it all that it can be. It uses my writing from before my attempt and after my attempt to compare how I changed and my views of life.

These writings reflect my own adventures interacting with those people, places, and things that I have loved in my life. I hope that those who listen to these words share some of the same feelings that I have had.

UnRee Deemed: The Unwanted Daughter of a Pedophile was written as a fictional truth. The president of our Mission Group, Sister Margaret Washington asked me to write a Easter play. After talking it over with my cousin Gayle, who is a play writer, we came up with an ideal. We didn’t want it to be typical where the story simply reported about Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, but we also wanted to show characters who desperately needed God’s plan of salvation.
