What I liked about this book is the Peterson’s well referenced stories to back up his message to improve oneself and the world. What I didn’t like was that a lot of archetypes that developed over the centuries in the stories he referenced was predominantly pointing to the bad mother or feminine villain who is the cause of our dark or chaotic troubles in the world. Not to say it is not believable as it IS important to have both an empathetic mother and a disciplinary father for a child. As a woman with masculine qualities who raised her children to the best of her ability and who has been validated by peers telling her that her children have good heads on their shoulders and contribute to the world intelligently, can’t help but think that he should do a follow up book that shows more current stories, which demonstrate perseverance of inbred gender roles despite the primal instincts within us. It gives hope that young men and women alike, do not have to polarize and yes, need each other because of each other’s differences but not because there is a lack, which I am afraid he unintentionally or intentionally eluded to. Regardless, I believe he is an intelligent and well intentioned author who wants to better the world and I think this is a good start. There is a lot to take from this book, and for that reason, I would recommend the book.

The author is no nonsense and leaves no stone unturned. Realistic insight. I do wish I had the pdfs to go with it though.

I loved it! Chris Bailey read his book with a good pace and had funny anecdotes/side comments. This book was made for audio and I will listen again to the bookmarks I made when he assigned the activities of implementation (because I was too impatient and wanted to keep listening to his engaging findings) The last chapter is the best with Chris' aha moment!

A little long, but very important to listen to

I'm a Canadian who wanted to know what has been happening to American Politics. Hillary is qualified to tell us. I am happy that she ended on a high and encouraging note otherwise I would be depressed. What happens to American politics should be closely looked at, to learn from and hope that we are equipped with the information from this audible to maintain our democracy.
