The futuristic setting is fun and well-enough developed for a first in a series, allowing characters and plot to develop without the need for too many info-dumps that would run the risk of slowing down the fun, funny, and quick story. Characters and themes are great, too! I will definitely move on to the second in the series.

A good sequel.

An enjoyable second entry that I will soon follow up with #3. Strong points are the action sequences, the gaming style, and the steady development of a reasonable underlying plot. Some descriptions are trying too hard to be wordy and feel out of place, but overall world building is decent.

Excellent story

The series continuously improved as it progressed, all three are excellent! it has been a while since I have read a series that created so interesting a story line and such memorable characters as this in only 3 books. I am excited for more books in this world.

Good story, narration is not great.

The story is good gaming-style fun, and put together in a fashion that is interesting instead of hokey and amateurish. The narrator does some voices very well, but the style chosen for the main character feels like it belongs in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. Frustrating, but not enough to put me off the 2nd book, which says something.

A strong sequel...

This is a very good follow up to Fifth Season, and where book 1 was dedicated to multiple time sequences, this book has the room to develop multiple, interesting plot lines and drive the story forward quite strongly. The narrator puts in another excellent performance, and I am more committed to getting book 3 than I was to getting book 2, so I think that shows how the story is gaining strength and momentum.
