Story
We’ve all heard of fake news, but what about fake history? Dominic Sandbrook explores two and a half millennia of human history, traveling from the American Deep South to the air raid shelters of wartime Britain, to discover how the past has constantly been manipulated, rewritten and reshaped. It turns out that when it comes to history, separating fact from fiction isn’t always easy. Many of the widely held beliefs about our past are based on a web of lies.

Hoping for more episodes

I was sceptical on what sort of track these episodes would take. But as I listened I found myself more and more intrigued and wanting to hear other examples.
The episodes are not a right/left wing revisionism of history they are a deep dive into how cultures from our distant to recent past have used history.
Extremely thought provoking. I do hope they release a second season!

Story
Sprung from their hugely successful podcast Canadianity, Taggart (that guy from that band) and Torrens (that guy from that show) share a collection of showbiz tales from the road and relatable everyday anecdotes, all wrapped up in a nostalgic fondness for this great country. Canadianity takes listeners on a cross-country journey, shining the spotlight on notable local heroes (or bahds), the best places to crush food and the greasiest watering holes, coast to coast to coast.

Canadianity is truly out there

I absolutely loved this telling of what it means to be from Canada. I was not familiar with Taggart or Torrens before listening to this but truly enjoyed their telling of life in Canada. I dropped it one star because of the swearing - I just wouldn’t be able to share it with my kids or a number of friends even though some of those lines made me laugh out loud.

MISLABELLED BOOK
Reviewed: 2019-05-31
This book seems to only focus on the 8th habit and not the 7 habits of Highly Effective people.
Only listened for an hour but it seemed not to deliver what was expected of it. Very Disappointed.
