I loved this trilogy so much!!! Queen of Air and Darkness surpassed every expectation I had for wrapping up this series. I got Lady Midnight as a gift in December of 2017. I got Lord of Shadows and Queen of Air and Darkness for Christmas in 2019. I re-read Lady Midnight so that I could read all the books one after the other! It took me 3 1/2 months to read, but it was worth every minute!! Such a fantastic series.
These were the first Cassandra Clare books I have read, and I have since procured the original Shadow Hunter Series books. I understand that there is a spin-off series to this one coming possibly in 2022. I really hope it is sooner!!

I actually followed the Audible versions for Lord of Shadow and Queen of Air and Darkness with the books because they were narrated by the exquisite James Marsters. It was phenomenal. I highly recommend experiencing the series in this way. Sadly, he did not narrate Lady Midnight.
I loved everything about this series!!

I have come to love the characters of this phenomenal series so much . Cindy’s writing is poetic. She is a true master storyteller. This is just a peek into the lives of the Riordan men one fateful summer long before Exit Unicorns and the events that shape their future. Such a wonderful story!! I absolutely loved it!! Gary does an amazing job bringing these amazing men to life!

I LOVE this series, and you can read my other reviews that tell you the history I have with this phenomenal story.
Gary Furlong is a master at his trade and he does not disappoint! I thought he did a fantastic job with Exit Unicorns. He takes it up quite a few notches for Mermaid in a Bowl of Tears and he has completely BLOWN ME away with his work in Flights of Angels. My favorites thus far are the voices for the characters in the Tales of Ragged Jack and the part where Pamela connects with Jamie in the dream realm and has a mix of accents! Love it, love it, love it! His rendition of the Reverend Broughton and the Crooked Man are spine-tinglingly accurate in my mind. I am very much looking forward to him doing the rest of the series because HONESTLY, I don't know if there is anyone else that could do it justice.
I highly recommend immersion reading for this series as it takes you on a reading experience like no other!

This is my first Holly Black novel and I must say I’m hooked. I followed along with the book and I truly enjoyed the experience. Caitlin Kelly did a fantastic job with the characters. This book is full of many dark surprises and twists and I can’t wait to read and listen to the Wicked King!

I quite enjoyed listening to this while following along with the book. The only complaint I have is the voice for Blade. I could never imagine him the way he was described. The narrator’s voice for him made him sound like a cross between Gollum and E.T. Perhaps it was the virus that made him sound more beastly. I could only picture him as some short, stocky and definitely not handsome or muscular. Despite that it was enjoyable.

I love this series with every fibre of my being! I am only on Chapter 25 of the audio, and I couldn't wait to write my review. Because I HONESTLY can't even entertain the idea that I will be disappointed, it's that good!!
So...
I am currently listening to the newly released audio version of this book and following along with my book. This is my second reading of the book. I am only on Chapter 25, but I am blown away!! I am completely enamored! I didn’t know I would LOVE a story even more than I already do. The audio takes you on a plane of existence that you didn’t even know was there. To experience a story like this is so much different than watching it in a movie format. I believe in a lot of ways with the perfect narrator it is so much better. Gary Furlong is a master at his trade and he does not disappoint! I thought he did a fantastic job with Exit Unicorns. He takes it up quite a few notches for Mermaids! I am very much looking forward to him doing the rest of the series because honestly, I don't know if anyone else could do it justice.

I am nearly finished, and I stand by my earlier review. I have enjoyed this experience so much, that I have relistened to several chapters more than once! I love it that much!! Brilliant work by Gary Furlong.
Love, love, love! #Audible1

My history with this series:
It took me 3 times to get into this series over a few years. I would pretty much get to the same part and stop. I am not sure if the timing was just wrong or what. So when Cindy started talking about the release of book 4, I decided to get started on the series seriously this time and give it another chance. All I can say is WOW! After I got past the part I was always stuck at, I continued on. Then I was completely hooked!! So, I read Mermaids and Angels next, and Spindrift, her collection of short stories about the characters in the course of 3 months! Over 2000 pages of literary genius! A full year before Shadow's was due to release!! If you haven't delved into the world of Exit Unicorns, then you are missing out on an epic work of art!! Cindy writes like no other person I have read. She is a master storyteller, and you are transported into the story through beautifully written prose. I could feel and see everything she described as if I was there. I have fallen in love with the characters, and this story so much. I have always had a love for all things Irish, but as The Troubles started before I was born, I was never aware of Ireland's bloody past. This series has taught me history, it has taught me about passion, it has taught me about strength, and most of all it has taught me about true and passionate love for one's country. You will laugh, you will cry, you will feel joy and such sorrow. You will feel love, and passion like no other. If you have a passion for all things Irish, then this is a series you can not afford to miss out on! Read it! You won't be sorry. Bloody brilliant! #Audible1

I love this story, this series, this world tucked away in the fabric of Cindy's mind. I have read the entire series thus far, and long for the next book to come out. It's that good.

It took me 3 tries to get past the first part of this book over a number of years, for reasons I am not entirely sure. When book 4 was to come out, I decided to get serious about this series and finally read it. I know the author personally, she is a friend, and the books were always in the back of my mind. It's nice that way so you don't forget about them. I finally plunged right in, and once I got past the first bits, which is a lot of detail and history I couldn't put the book down. I then inhaled the next 2 books, and her collection of short stories about the characters a full year before book 4 was to be released! If only I had done that years ago, but then I would have had to wait longer for the next book in the series to be released. When Cindy announced that the Exit Unicorns was going to be put into audio, I wasn't sure I was going to listen to it. I have only listened to one other audiobook a number of years ago, and I wasn't all that impressed. It is just not a format I thought I would enjoy.

I have been wanting to re-read the series for a while now. So, I thought this would be the perfect time to get started. Let me tell you, I do not regret my decision one little bit. I didn't think I could love a story any more than I already do, but I can. The narrator truly brings this story to life, and I experienced it in a way I never expected. The story, details, and history came to life in a way that reading alone cannot produce. I feel like I can remember details of the book so much more vividly than when I read the book. I want to read differently now. The narrator did an excellent job of bringing each character to life, though Pamela was not all that I hoped for. The narrator absolutely makes up for it through all the other characters though. Some characters were so spot on in my mind it was scary, and just left me mind-blown. I listened to the book on my iPhone with my earbuds in while going about the house doing things. You know a narrator has done his job well when you are laughing out loud, and your kid looks at you oddly. :)

I can not wait until next summer when book two is set to release on audio, so I may have to just re-read the book now, and listen later. Enjoy!!
