In a ruined and toxic landscape, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.

unfortunately plot is pretty much the same from the last book. the the narrator is the only reason I got this book, and a vague interest in how the story would end. Alas most of the story is explaining how the new convoluted technology/plan will work unlike the last convoluted plan/technology. there is some good banter between characters but never a sense that things won't work out in the end.

Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise, and he's going to keep it: taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

narrator good, too much justifying the science and not enough story development. I want to know what happens but there are a lot of books....

A plucky farm boy will find more than he's bargained for on his quest to awaken the sleeping princess in her cursed tower. First there's the Dark Lord, who wishes for the boy's untimely death...and also very fine cheese. Then there's a bard without a song in her heart but with a very adorable and fuzzy tail, an assassin who fears not the night but is terrified of chickens, and a mighty fighter more frightened of her sword than of her chain-mail bikini. This journey will lead to sinister umlauts, a trash-talking goat, and the Dread Necromancer Steve....

lots of puns (mostly the same ones). some good parts but the story goes on for much longer then it needs too. the narrator is talented but plays it a bit too clownish. worth a listen on your free credit
