I found GWYF randomly, downloaded and listened to it while driving around Eastern Canada on a solo road trip. I love her relaxed form of writing and with her narration it felt like she was sitting in the car with me having a heart to heart. At the time of first reading this book I was in the midst of lots of change in my life dealing with postpartum depression/anxiety and navigating life as a new mom. Turns out it was the perfect time to read GWYF since she focused on so many internal conflicts I was experiencing.
Perhaps not everyone will feel the same way or not relate to her experiences. Everyone’s trauma and experiences are different but are just as valid as the next persons! Rachel’s honesty and realness she shared about her life were relatable to me and the 9 coworkers who have read my copy since!
The take away from her book I think everyone can agree on is to wake up every day striving to be the best version of yourself!

Rachel Hollis has seen it too often: women not living into their full potential. They feel a tugging on their hearts for something more, but they’re afraid of embarrassment, of falling short of perfection, of not being enough. In Girl, Stop Apologizing, number-one New York Times best-selling author and founder of a multimillion-dollar media company, Rachel Hollis sounds a wake-up call. She knows that many women have been taught to define themselves in light of other people - whether as wife, mother, daughter, or employee....

This book is what I needed for where I am in my life. Her writing puts into words what I’m not able to at times so I found it very relatable. Listening to the audio version makes me feel like I have my own coach kicking my butt at home! Perhaps she isn’t the coach everyone is looking for, but her style and content speaks to me! Thank you for GWYF & GSA. Thank you for helping me help myself out of a postpartum rut and a rough season!
