A House in the Sky
- A Memoir
- Written by: Amanda Lindhout, Sara Corbett
- Narrated by: Amanda Lindhout
- Length: 13 hrs and 17 mins
Amanda Lindhout reads her spectacularly dramatic memoir of a woman whose curiosity about the world led her from rural Canada to imperiled and dangerous countries on every continent, and then into 15 months of harrowing captivity in Somalia - a story of courage, resilience, and extraordinary grace. In August 2008, she traveled to Mogadishu, Somalia - "the most dangerous place on Earth." On her fourth day in the country, she and her photojournalist companion were abducted.

Moving and absorbing
Moving and absorbing on so many levels it held me spellbound for hours within a space of 3 days whenever I could find the time to listen. Amanda narrates this painful narrative in a steady voice which can’t have been easy. Her insight into her experience and the men who held her captive and so heartlessly abused her is impressive and enlightening. It is remarkable that she and Nigel survived. I highly recommend this memoir and will be on the lookout for Nigel’s version of this unholy and tortuous event in both their lives.
