Good plot, well read although sometimes the narrator sounded like Humphrey Bogart in a noir movie. It was just a bit too long I thought with a lot of twists and turns towards the end which spoiled it for me. Also, forgiving 8 years of deception and heartbreak would not be my mindset.

A really good book in every way.....good plot, good overall story.....excellent narration. A surprising little twist in the epilogue, not sure whether it spoiled the story or not. Undecided. Regardless, a very enjoyable book.

Good read. A bit muddled at the end but enjoyable. I did have a clue as to 'who done it' but another surprise ending.

Would have enjoyed this book if it wasn't for the dialogue. It is awful, I stuck with it as long as I could but gave up A female narrator trying to imitate male speakers is just not on. It is cringe worthy and quite frankly annoying. Too bad - could have been a good story.

The story was good but it was soooo slow, and drawn out. Repetitive in every chapter and could have been much more suspenseful had it not gone on for 10 hours. The ending was a surprise but diluted by the fact that you had to listen to endless repeats of thoughts, emotions and everything said in the previous chapter. The narration was good, she did a great job with the material she had to work with.

It is such a shame that the narrator can make or break a book. While the story is good, and interesting and in this case quite different to others I have listened to - I could not listen any longer to the narrator. Some listeners might quite like him but not me so unfortunately I will not be able to enjoy listening to anymore books by Peter Grainger with this narrator.

This book was okay. Everything happens in the last 3 chapters sooo....the preceding chapters we quite boring fillers. The add on "An absolutely Gripping Crime Thriller" is an absolutely not true. I stopped listening and when I did I hadn't missed a thing.

The stories are good, unfortunately I cannot get past the narrator. To me, she sounds like she is reading a shopping list, charges through pages, not much intonation and, in my opinion ruins the author's books. Really too bad as I don't think I could listen to another Angela Marsons book with this narrator.

I could really enjoy this author if it wasn't for the narrator. Nothing personal, mind you but she races through the chapters at warp speed with little to no expression or change in tone. Almost monotonous and characterless - everyone sounds the same. Too bad.

I am a die hard fan of Carla Kovach and the "Gina Hart Series" , having listened to all 6 books now. My only disappointment was with the narrator. The previous five books were narrated by Tamsin Kinnard who is excellent. Her ability to change characters was effortless. The 6th book in the series was narrated by Alison Campbell who is quite good but in my opinion could not make the various characters distinctively individual. In most cases the females ended up sounded all the same. Also, the voice of the Gina Hart was not as strong as in the previous books..
