This story was too predictable, I can’t say how because it would wreck the storyline for other listeners. I just kept listening for a twist, something to pique my interest. Maybe Nora Roberts is churning out too many books. The performance by January LaVoy was flawless as usual. Without her ability to breathe life into the characters this book would have flatlined.

It is Time to listen to this book

I wasn’t too sure about making this choice...but for all of the license the writer takes fictionally it is also loaded with factual accuracy as well. The timing...extraordinary as we face a pandemic quite a bit less concerning than this authors fiction it helps to know that we are so very lucky COVID is not the killer needed to produce this work of fiction. However we are blessed in a way that perhaps COVID will teach us valuable lessons that will prevent the fictional world of this book from ever becoming realty. I felt maybe more intensely because of COVID for the characters in the story with my own emotions caught up in the story complete with tears and cheers. I feel blessed that this time, this story is fiction and I pray we pay attention so that the world may never experience the real life version of this book. Put you masks in place, don’t be in a hurry to move too quickly, learn the lessons COVID can teach us, lest real life become stranger than fiction.
