Positive: Julia Whalen, as always was brilliant. The Story: It wasn't terrible but for how high stakes Year One was - this fell pretty flat with too many cliches and overworm troupes. I've read/listened to almost everything NR has written so know to expect certain things and generally enjoy them, but they just didn't seem to fit in with the original world she built. Both this and the second book were missing what made Year One really special and amazing. I can't say more of why this was so Meh without spoilers .. but Meh.

performance was great, but the story doesn't age well and the women are mostly all annoying or just really basic.

The story lacked real depth. Nora Robert's is getting a little lazier with her books. The villains didn't make any sense and didn't feel real and I accurately predicted 95% of the story after chapter 4. The beginning was amazing and had my heart in my throat but the rest .. just missed the mark. I really hope the third book in the chronicles of the One has more care taken with it.

Jon's interview skills are intense. I can't imagine asking all those hard questions. My condolances to her loved ones. Hopefully some things in the industry can change so that these stories are a thing of the past.

Really enjoy the characters, the intrigue and overall fun of this story. NR needs to keep her secondary characters ar the very least the level they are in this book to continue to do good writing.

I've never watched her videos, got tthe book because of Philly D talking it up. Amazing story of empowerment in domestic issues. For sure a strong woman who'se learned. Found her need to describe some peoples ethnicity and sexual orientation when it didn't contribute to tthe story weird and also her weird judgement of other women off putting. Overall I wish her peace and safety. What a sucky love story!
