Good Follow Up to Dune

Its hard to follow up a classic like Dune, but Messiah does an adequate job. The quality of the storytelling remains high while Herbert continues to peel new political/religious philosophical layers.

Really pleased with this one. Satisfying conclusion with good build up throughout (despite being a bit slow at times).

Taylor and Porter are a SciFi dream team made in heaven. They compliment and enhance each others style so well. I hope they continue to work together for a long time and many titles.

Singularity Trap discusses some significant themes like; What's the ultimate goal/endgame for humanity ? How do we reach the endgame without destroying ourselves first ? What impacts would an alien invasion/threat of invasion have on our species and would we band together or hasten our demise through greed, fear and war ? How do we react to first contact ?

These themes are interwoven into a solid scifi story that has unique and surprising twists and characters which are further enhanced by the excellent voice acting.

If you enjoyed The Bobiverse series at all or just a good scifi story told well then I say you should dive right into The Singularity Trap. I'll be thinking about this one for a while.

I was skeptical about all the 5 star reviews, but I guess I had no reason to doubt them. This was an excellent audio book production and story.

The story is thought provoking and fosters deep thought about the human condition and our possible future as a species.

Enjoyed this so much I immediatly purchased book 2.

On another note, my girlfriend also loved this book. Shes as excited as I am to start on book 2.

Simply put; I found the story boring. All the way through. Theres not even a big payoff at the end (if you have the patience to get all the way through).. Dont get me wrong, the narration and production was top notch, just that the main story had no hook for me. I feel like this story is meant for clone wars/rebels fans. Its more of a companion book for those series. Which I notice Disney is doing with their media lately... "Want to know the whole story ??? Read and watch these 8 other media products !" ... No thanks Disney. I wont be buying anymore Disney SW media in the future. If I could ask for a refund, or my time back, I would, since I got very, very little out of this title.

Dune is a story with great depth.
It is a glimpse into the psyche of human kind and its ruling heirarchies. Set in a rich scifi-esq/Arthurian universe; Herbert paints an elaborate and compelling tale of power politics, espionage and betrayals. The Spice Must Flow !

Good narration. Wheaton does a fine job.

Story is fun and takes you to some intresting places and events from 80s popculture. I really enjoyed listening to this on my work commute. Light and fun, I'm looking forward to Ready Player 2 !

First of all; Great reading and voice work.
This is a much darker story than the film version, and a lot more content is covered. As I'd never read the novel, but had seen the film many times it was wildly interesting seeing all the differences between scripts. Loved all the extra material. Was good enough that I'm considering getting the next novel in the series, The Lost World...

A solid and well told Star Wars story. Probably the best trilogy of the Legends EU.
The voice acting was well done and the added sound effects and background music gives the production a polished and professional feel. High quality audio book.
A must buy for OT Star Wars/EU Legends fans.

I'll start by saying this story is very ambitious in its scope. (I may need another listen to bring everything together in my mind-which is fine with me because the voice performances and presentation was 5 stars). There was so much material that had to be covered and strung together into a coherent, interesting story. But it seems in true form, Gaiman deliveres a great fictional thriller, and juggles all the material with relative ease. After listening to American Gods (if you enjoyed it) I'd strongly recommend that you check out "Anansi Boys" by Neil Gaiman. It deals with one of the characters found in American Gods, and is a complete shift from the darkness of AG to something more playful and heart warming. I'd recommend getting both novels/audio books and listening to them back to back. Loved both very much.

Voice performances for both audio books (American Gods and Anansi Boys) was stellar and amongst the best I've heard. Kudos to the production team and actors.

Unique and fascinating, I loved it. Was not sure what to expect going in.. But as usual it turned out lovely, dark and endearing. The story of the Anansi Boys will be with me for a long time like a favorite song stuck in my ear.
