Story
Ancient Egyptian civilization is so grand our minds sometimes have difficulty adjusting to it. It lasted 3,000 years, longer than any other on the planet. Its Great Pyramid of Cheops was the tallest building in the world until well into the 19th century and remains the only Ancient Wonder still standing. And it was the most technologically advanced of the ancient civilizations, with the medical knowledge that made Egyptian physicians the most famous in the world.

Fantastic Overview

The course was great, and the lecturer was amazing, bringing an enthusiasm to the subject that shone through all the way through the 48 lectures. As a survey of a massive subject that covers more than three thousand years of history, it does great. Left me wanting more detail and wishing that there was a course of similar length on Old, Middle and New Kingdoms. While the lectures on Egyptology and mummification were interesting and provided good context, I think I would have preferred the time go to fleshing our some more of the reigns or exploring in more detail the ancient sources that provided the windows back into the history of Ancient Egypt. Overall an excellent course I am planning to listen to again at some point!
