Of Mice and Men
- Written by: John Steinbeck
- Narrated by: Gary Sinise
- Length: 3 hrs and 11 mins
While the powerlessness of the laboring class is a recurring theme in Steinbeck’s work of the late 1930s, he narrowed his focus when composing Of Mice and Men (1937), creating an intimate portrait of two men facing a world marked by petty tyranny, misunderstanding, jealousy, and callousness. But though the scope is narrow, the theme is universal: a friendship and shared dream that make an individual’s existence meaningful.
The narrator keeps the story alive

Great listen, but intro/outro music needs to go
Everything about this audiobook was amazing. The narrator was great, the story was great, the pacing was a bit fast but you can just slow it down. My only issue is the intro/outro music is so absolutely jarring and distracting that it is impossible to hear and follow the narrator during the full duration.
