Story
Oliver Sacks' The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat tells the stories of individuals afflicted with fantastic perceptual and intellectual aberrations: patients who have lost their memories and with them the greater part of their pasts; who are no longer able to recognize people and common objects; who are stricken with violent tics and grimaces or who shout involuntary obscenities; whose limbs have become alien; who have been dismissed as retarded yet are gifted with uncanny artistic or mathematical talents.

Fascinating

I find the human condition fascinating and often marvel at how often it goes RIGHT when there are so many things that could go WRONG...
I found this book compassionate, interesting, fascinating, and, in places, funny!
A great read.

Story
Words on the Move opens our eyes to the surprising backstories to the words and expressions we use every day. Did you know that silly once meant "blessed"? Or that ought was the original past tense of owe? Or that the suffix -ly in adverbs is actually a remnant of the word like? And have you ever wondered why some people from New Orleans sound as if they come from Brooklyn?

I studied Linguistics in University and this was by far more exciting and accessible than most of my courses. Any language lover will want to listen to this! I was thrilled that the author was the reader also - and it makes sense as there are so many descriptions that he sounds out for you... I think this book would ONLY be so accessible on Audible!!
This was my first Audible book... and I was hooked.
Incredible!!

Arianwyn’s world is rich and full! James Nichol does an amazing job with a really well developed cast of characters! The language is beautiful and brings the world to life! Written for 8-12... I am 40-something and loved it! Elizabeth’s reading is enchanting. Best book ever!! Can not wait for A Witch Alone on Audible. A+
