I liked the idea with two mysteries stories connected in one book. it worked well and was enhanced by excellent narration by both the narrators

I really like this series. The main characters are portrayed very well. They are not perfect
The narrator is also good and manages to tell the story without too much acting in the narration ,just enough emphasis. Hope there is another one in the series soon

I like Kate Atkinson, her books are always well written. The characters are not all perfect
but they make human decisions. The interaction between Brody and his son seems real.
The narrator was also not too over the top. Just right.

A very good performance of a very good story

The book was recommended, so I tried it. It took a while to get into it, but then I didn't want it to finish. Well written, without sensationalism. A mellow, thoughtfu,l well researched book. The narrator was excellent .

I have always liked books by Joy Ellis. This certainly did not disappoint. Unusual twist, and also a little sad.
Looking forward to reading, listening, to more by this author and narrator.

It was interesting to solve a mystery without any of the advances we take for granted now. Aprons with blood on would easily have led to an arrest with DNA evidence.
However, preconceived preduces, and the acceptance of most about the womans positions in society, led to an interesting and believable story.
