The ending is a good twist but I really didn’t like the main character, which ruined the story for me. She inspired no sympathy and so I didn’t really care that things got difficult for her. Great narration though.

This is a beautiful story about family narrated with such ease and humour and ability that it truly felt like the narrator was talking to me, recounting his story, instead of just reading it. Never once felt boring despite it just being about life. Really loved it and the main characters.

I don't know why this audio book got such great reviews because I thought it was terrible. First of all, the narrator did a terrible job with all of the different characters' voices. To be fair, there were quite a few, but each one sounded so hokey and completely fake. It was a like listening to a series of bad actors read a script. As for the writing, Stephen King just wrote some incredibly cheesy dialogue. People don't talk that way! I was so distracted by the terrible dialogue and cringe-worthy character voices that I could hardly appreciate the story, which was mediocre, at best. Don't believe the hype! Only suited for diehard King fans, I suppose.

Richard Armitage is amazing (as always) but the story just fell flat for me. Lots of unanswered questions too.

I loved everything about book and and can’t wait to hear the rest of the books in the series.

I think the author really gets the complicated world women have to navigate. The characters are flawed which make them much more relatable than they first seem. Overall, very thought-provoking and timely.

Amazing narration. A beautiful story about the heart of people and a community, with enough of a mystery to keep you going to the end.

Sad but beautiful story of several generations of women who hold one another up through some terrible experiences. The narration is amazing and really brought the characters to life. Only con is that story is perhaps a little bit slow-moving.
