McConaughey recounts the formative points in his life while passing on a wisdom that becomes formative for the reader. If the Dali Lama was southern bred, this is how he would sound. Hearing it from his own lips was an experience on its own and I suggest this is how Greenlights be consumed. However, a hard copy wouldn't be a bad idea to have on hand - I found myself pausing and taking notes throughout.

Amazing performance, classic story. The ending was a little predictable but it was thoroughly enjoyable. The narrator really brought it to life.

I'm glad they changed the story for the movie so much. The battle scene is the best one.

I started reading Iris Johansen books when I was 12 and was obsessed with them. This one is very similar in style to the others and that is exactly what I was looking for. The excitement, hints of romance and quick pace hit all the right points. Especially good as a cottage read :) Lastly, the narrator is very talented and acts out the scenes like a pro 👌.

If you don't know who Laura Clery is, watch a few of her videos before listening. Knowing her content connects you to her story. And what a story she has. This isn't just a comedian talking about comedy related things, it is a journey through addiction, abusive relationships (with yourself and other humans) and the pain of personal growth - peppered with comedy, of course. I am so happy I listened to this book. Laura does an excellent job at bringing her life to...life. 10/10.
