The characters in this story could be anyone of my Aunts or Uncles. There were so many hardships for the poor french canadians... And so many influences because of church and government.
My family is still trying to find each other and put back all the pieces.

I listen to books for entertainment.
I was entertained.
I enjoy strong female characters.

Meh... I thought it would be light and funny.

It was too much teaching and preaching.
I was hoping for funny and interesting.

I struggled to get through not only the first 2 chapters (repeating them at least 10 times) but the entire book.
It was like I was Charlie Brown trying to listen to the school teacher.
Definitely not a series I wish to carry on with.

Good story.... Can be hard to follow at first due to the number of characters.
Found the ending to drag on a bit.

Not what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised.
The narration dialect and some of the slang may be off putting (Scottish) but I found it delightful.

Thug Life

The narrator is animated enough to keep you interested but not too much we're feels it feels unnatural.
