Story
Sadie hasn't had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she's been raising her sister, Mattie, in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water. But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him. When West McCray - a radio personality working on a segment about forgotten towns in America - overhears Sadie's story, he becomes obsessed with finding the girl.

Gut Wrenchingly Important

I didn't know a lot about this book going into it other than it was narrated by a full cast (which was amazing!) But it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time with twists, turns, and revelations I did not see coming. After listening to this book, I too can't take another dead girl.

Story
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

The narration is good but the story is greatly lacking. I bought it because I heard the tv adaptation is great, but I couldn't get past the male driven perspective of female sexuality. I'm sure that there's a good plot in there somewhere but the constant references to sexual exploits/innuendo ruined it for me.
