It was a bit of a dry slow start. I’d not read any of the authors books before and so hadn’t met any of the characters. I like ‘procedural’ crime novels but found the beginning dragged a bit. I warmed up to the main character but really started to enjoy the book once DC was introduced. Things came together and by the finish I was really enjoying it. Now I look forward to starting the preceding series!

As well as an interesting and many layered story there was more development of the characters we love. Well paced with fantastic narration as usual, this book had me listening almost non stop!

This was a great novel with many twists and turns along the way. The characters are really coming to full life and the undercurrents are really interesting. More honest humour which deepens feelings and doesn’t detract. And narration was spectacular!!

I loved this book, we’re getting to know the main characters pretty well now and was nice to follow developments with all of them, but Marco was fascinating! The narration was wonderful as usual and I downloaded a map of Denmark to try and get a feel for more of the areas mentioned Think I finished this in three days!! And it was perfectly concluded!! On to the next adventure. 😊

Though there were a few moments I was saying oh for heavens sake to myself over all it was a good story with funny moments sad moments and lots of warmth and feeling like I was right there. The narration was wonderful.

I remember my mother reading a book about Norman Hartnell and I was entranced by the gowns. This was a great story with lots of interesting facts woven into it. The Narration was superb!!

The story was creepy and well paced. Not one to listen to before bed. I do agree with another listener that I didn’t like the epilogue. But overall I went to look right away for another by this author and read by RA. But the only other one is the Taking of Annie Thorne. Which is the backstory for this one. So not sure it’s worth trying. ☹️

So ok I guess the analogy mid way thru the book about Sherlock and Moriarty should have given me a glimmer of what was to come. Lovely narration as always but the ending was sudden and left hanging too much. I hope there’s another one coming ☹️ Loved so much about this book and Getting to know Jackman and his family more. Hope the next book is out in Audible SOON!!

I wish I’d listened to this story first as it gives a little more background but doesn’t really matter. Great interesting story and of course fantastic narration! I hope all her books come out on audible!!

I was looking for something in the same vein after reading Lethal White and found this. Was so well done I read it in almost one day. And anything Richard Armitage reads is worth listening to just for his voice. But this is well paced beautifully written.
