It’s the end of the world as you've never known it. Join the Librarian as he does his best to make the post-apocalyptic world a better place by protecting the weak, fighting injustice, squaring off against a group of former renaissance fair workers who have established a kingdom in the Rocky Mountains, and so on. Can one man make a difference in the face of such murderous cannibals and super smart bears? Probably not.

I was a little leary of a post apocalyptic comedy novel as I do love the genre but decided to give this title a whirl anyways. I am so very glad I did. It has a very humorous air about it and is well written. The narrators preformance is stellar in conveying the books attitude. From a survival stand point, this book may not be as thought provoking as other in the genre, but offers some humerous insights to some things that I had not considered as possibilities in an apocalypse in a very light and fun jab at our world today and what could happen if particular types of people are allowed to make thier own decisions.

This book is like Mad Max meets Monty Python meets that friendly guy in movies that everyone likes but no one remembers his name.

If your looking for a chuckle, get this series!

After a long day of prepping a house for painting, all Gus Berry wanted was the night off to spend some time with his girlfriend and relax before having to return to work the next morning. But that isn’t going to happen. Because Gus’s co-worker Benny has found a one-night job at the local Mollymart East, a job that has to be done by morning. If Gus and his paint crew can complete the work by then, it could mean huge business with a respected, established grocery store chain.

Area X has been cut off from the rest of the continent for decades. Nature has reclaimed the last vestiges of human civilization. This is the 12th expedition, and their group is made up of four women. Part of their mission is to map the terrain and collect specimens, and, above all, to avoid being contaminated by Area X itself. They arrive expecting the unexpected, and Area X delivers, but it's the surprises that came across the border with them, and the secrets the expedition members are keeping from one another, that change everything.

I do not know what I have just listened too, but I feel oddly calm and accepting that it was as much as I needed to know, as much as I should know, and that further questions could not yield any more helpfulness to me than to her.

I really enjoyed listening to this. Loved the performance, as well as the story.

I would recommend this to anyone who seeks stories of adventure or of traversing the unknown.

I just noticed at the top that this is book 1!!!!! Well then! Looks like I know where my next credit is going! 😁. (would also appear that I get to have my questions answered 😉)

get this. you will not regret it! I can honestly say. even before I have put this into action, that the thoughts, ideas, and concepts in this book have changed me. I saught this book from a place of darkness, it doesn't tell you to build a torch, accept the darkness, or to smile while bumbling around. it simply points out that your eyes are closed.

As the 19th-century philosopher Henry David Thoreau wrote, "It isn't enough to be busy. So are the ants. The question is: What are we busy about?" If we want to take back control of our workday schedules and priorities, the simplest way to do it is by way of relentlessly wondering how we're spending our time. However, what questions ought we ask? The key here is control of attention. We're so distracted, and we're feeding that feeling on every occasion we switch between responsibilities. We need to (re)educate our attention.
