Rosamund Pike does an absolutely beautiful job on this novel. Her characters are distinct and very enjoyable. This has always been one of my favourite books and I thoroughly enjoyed it in this medium!

This book was ok. If you're a fan of James Patterson books, you'll probably enjoy it. The story is good, but the characters are a bit flat. Both narrators were just ok. A few of their character's voices were annoying sounding, but I think that was intended. The book starts well and ends well, but there is a pretty long, drawn out middle where the main character makes bad decision after bad decision. All in all, not a bad book, just not a great one.

I had never read this book, even as a child. Of course, like everyone, I'm very family with the film. I liked the book much better than the movies! The characters are much more developed and endearing. Anne Hathaway was incredible! She had a fun, distinctive voice for every character- and there were A LOT of characters! It was like being read to by a loved one. She even put great enthusiasm into reading the narrative. I am looking forward to listening to this again with my daughter when she gets a bit older.

I was born and raised on Prince Edward Island. I vaguely remember flipping through this book at the age of nine. I had already seen the movies and the stage musical more than once. I have always enjoyed the story, but I never really grasped why it was considered such a classic. You see, Anne is kind of shoved down our throats here on PEI. There is Avonlea Village, a water park called Shining Waters, Anne food, Anne drink, Anne merchandise. People travel here from all over the world to experience it.
I bought this audiobook on a whim and I am so glad I did. I was completely charmed by it. The story is written so simply, yet so gloriously! Lucy Maud Montgomery had me laughing and crying. I feel foolish saying it, but several times my heart swelled. Rachel McAdams did a beautiful job. Her long dialogues as Anne were at times dizzying! She read with real passion and love.
I am so glad I got to experience Anne again. Now I can take in this tourist season and know what all the fuss is about.
