the book is a non-stop action, full of great intrigue and adventure. the narrator is simply amazing, pity he doesn't do the rest of the "Asian Saga".

one of the best narrators, period. excellent book! even somewhat cheesy ending does not eclipse this work of genius.

while the narrator is very good, the story itself is on the weak side, as far as Huxley's genius is concerned. try "the devils of loudun" or "grey eminence" if you want good Huxley.

well, firstly I find this book a bit overrated, albeit still very much worth reading/listening. but this narrator.... it isn't so much that he is bad- just utterly unfitting to narrate this story. he has this lazy, mumbling, hangover, slow way about him- he'd be much better suited to read Bukowski, and not Hemmingway. in addition, he is incapable to do accents and female roles. i would not recommend this edition to anyone.

both the book, and the narration, are superb. it isn't easy to get into it immediately, - at least it wasn't for me. but oh, how rewarding it is once you do! very unique, captivating book.

loved it; the book is a fantastic sequel to the first three. not as "epic" in terms of might and magic, but equally as good as books two and three (the first one wasn't my favorite)

I don't know whether it is a book itself, or the translation, but the whole thing siunds like a very depressing and laboured version of Bukowski. i drink, the worlds sucks, the women are too good for me, i can't figure out why should i exist etc... not the best novel written on the topic, in my opinion.

while the book has some basic beekeeping information, it is full of vacuous and misleading statements. it talks about "healing properties" of honey and propolis and make very inaccurate statements about beekeeping in general. the language is far from eloquent, and constant repetition of basically same sentences makes me think that the author got paid per word. avoid, there are better books out there.
