Story
It's 1910, and Daniel Pitt is a reluctant lawyer who would prefer to follow in the footsteps of his detective father. When the biographer Russell Graves, who Daniel is helping defend, is sentenced to execution for the murder of his wife, Daniel's Pitt-family investigative instincts kick in, and he sets out to find the real killer. With only 21 days before Graves is to be executed, Daniel learns that Graves is writing a biography of Victor Narraway, the former head of Special Branch and a close friend of the Pitts. And the stories don't shed a positive light. Is it possible someone is framing Graves to keep him from writing the biography-maybe even someone Daniel knows in Special Branch? The only answer, it seems, lies in the dead woman's corpse.

Story
An affair: It can rob a couple of their relationship, their happiness, their very identity. And yet this extremely common human experience is so poorly understood. Adultery has existed since marriage was invented, and so, too, the prohibition against it - in fact it has a tenacity that marriage can only envy. Iconic couples' therapist and best-selling author of Mating in Captivity Esther Perel returns with a groundbreaking and provocative look at infidelity, arguing for a more nuanced and less judgmental conversation about our transgressions.

To start I love that Dr Gregor voiced this, his command of and passion for the information would not come across if someone else read it.
The information provided in this book is life changing. If you have a question he has an answer grounded in science and presented in an easy to understand and apply package.
The only reason you would not read this book is if you want to hang onto your bad habits.

How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

Legendary magician Penn Jillette was approaching his 60th birthday. Topping 330 pounds and saddled with a systolic blood pressure reading over 200, he knew he was at a dangerous crossroads: If he wanted to see his small children grow up, he needed to change. And then came Crazy Ray. A former NASA scientist and an unconventional, passionate innovator, Ray Cronise saved Jillette's life with his wild "potato diet". Outspoken, frank, and bitingly clever, Presto is an incisive, rollicking listen.

in today's polarizing nutrition climate this book will be controversial however if you listen to everything Penn says you should walk away understanding that it is his story, his experience, his body and he is NOT telling you to replicate what he did. If you are one that ignores the "don't try this at home message" I urge you to NOT read this book. If however you can take the essence of the message and apply it to your life there are many important and transferable lessons. Although Penn uses more profane language than I think is necessary I enjoyed his reading as the passion and immediacy would not have transferred as well had someone else narrated. Thoroughly enjoyed this book.

mesmerizing in its detail, raw honesty and the face it could be anyone's family. I love listening to Kate's voice and hearing her story in her voice I felt at times as if I was evesdropping and at others as if I was one of the players. It struck me when hearing the tale of her mother how hard her final season of OITNB must have been.

"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition."
