Story
I’ve been in this life for 50 years, been trying to work out its riddle for 42, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last 35. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me.

Story
Two childhood friends from Scotland and two illegitimate half-brothers from the deep South suffer and enjoy all manner of bizarre adventures that, it turns out, are somehow interconnected and, even more surprisingly, meaningful. The eclectic cast of characters features Socrates, Carl Jung, and Tony Randall, along with an ex-television evangelist with a penchant for booze, prostitutes, and uncomfortable knitwear who gets mugged in Miami by an almost pure-blooded Watusi warrior - and sets off on a road trip in a stolen motor home.

if like myself you're choosing this book based on your enjoyment of Craig's non-fiction titles, then please don't bother. His silly ramblings here are not worth your time nor money. in my first experience with Audible i'm asking for a refund.

Story
Craig Ferguson has defied the odds his entire life. He has failed when he should have succeeded and succeeded when he should have failed. The fact that he is neither dead nor in a locked facility (at the time of printing) is something of a miracle in itself. In Craig’s candid and revealing memoir, listeners will get a look into the mind and recollections of the unique and twisted Scottish American who became a national hero for pioneering the world’s first TV robot skeleton sidekick and reviving two dudes in a horse suit dancing as a form of entertainment.

Craig forgot to thank the most important ingredient here - like making bread and not thanking flour. He forgot to thank his fans. We held you up. We stood up. We watched your shows. We read your books. A performer without fans is nowt. in this regard save your gushing sentimentality for your family like a firehose. We put the food in your cupboards in Hollywood. So mind yer manners, big yin. We matter.

Story
In American on Purpose, Craig Ferguson delivers a moving and achingly funny memoir of living the American dream as he journeys from the mean streets of Glasgow, Scotland, to the comedic promised land of Hollywood. Along the way, he stumbles through several attempts to make his mark - as a punk rock musician, a construction worker, a bouncer, and, tragically, a modern dancer.

Very entertaining. I liked it for I was also born in Glasgow and now live in Canada. I remember seeing Craig perform at the Tron Theatre in the Trongate. My gran lived nearby on Bell Street. She used to live on High Street just down the road from George Square. Craig's stand up show had a bit about instead of Saving the Whale then what about the plankton? I also remember having a drink with my pal at the Cul-de-Sac bar in Glasgow's west end and Craig was with his pal Robbie Coltrane who could be spotted fleeing down Byers Road in his convertible MG. Oh the 80's!
