Most of this story is very boring and very repetitive. One part was a complete copy of an earlier part in the book. Seems when you sell books like Danielle Steel does, she doesn’t need an editor. The characters were kind of blah and Faith’s possessiveness over her 18 and 24 year old daughters was completely unrealistic. It moved a bit faster towards the end and I thought the ending was good...happy of course.

Interesting Story of a journey through several generations.

I liked parts of this book others not as much. My favourite characters by far were Eleanore and Alex. For me the story kind of lost its impetus when they were no longer in it. Loved the way the wedding dress was described. I could easily visualize it. I didn’t care for the narrator. I think it might have been better narrated by a woman. I would recommend this book

Enjoyed this. Narrator was good. Story was good and I didn’t completely have the ending figured out. Good story and characters. Would recommend it for sure.

Jane Christmas never disappoints. She has found her niche in writing. This book kind of grabs you and after I had to wonder why. Then I came up with it. Reading this (I got the audible) you feel like you are a peeping Tom or even a snoop into someone’s private life and marriage. Like getting some good gossip, and who doesn’t like that occasionally. I am not a mover. But I have done a serious renovation. Not fun. I am amazed Jane and “the husband” as she calls him, stayed together. It is a huge strain on a marriage. Her description of the house in Devon and the seagulls was funny. I enjoyed her description of her new neighborhood. I really enjoyed all of it. Wish she would write more books. Would recommend this book.

There wasn’t anything I disliked about this book. It has everything, love, anger, emotion, sadness. The story is actually about two couples and in particular the similarities of the two. Both are driven, motivated, willing to work above and beyond to accomplish their dreams. Both are amazing stories but the stories are connected and actually weave into one. I would recommend this book to everyone. Narration is excellent.

Just finished listening to this good story. It’s different to a lot of Steels stories in the fact it is a mystery although you know who the perpetrators are from near the beginning. It kept my interest although to start with there are a lot of characters to figure out. I thought it a wee bit draggy in the middle. I really liked the narrator. He enunciates well and is easy to listen to. It ended well, not sappy but realistic. I would recommend this book.

I was really caught up with this story. I thought Kevin Donovan was an excellent narrator. The writing is in “news story” format but that’s ok it’s like Kevin is sitting in your living room giving you the scoop. I learned a lot about the Sherman’s and their lives and subsequent deaths. Contrary to other comments, I appreciated learning about the pharmaceutical industry. It clearly played a major role in their lives. It is sad to think the killers have not been found. In my opinion the Toronto police were/are clearly negligent. I’m no detective but from the outside looking in I think someone they knew did it. I also think someone who was in a position to gain a lot of money by killing them both. If it was a deal gone wrong, why kill Honey. Follow the money with both dead who stands to gain. Just my opinion. Anyway good book, very informative. Maybe people in Toronto knew all this but I’m in the west and the case did not get huge coverage out here. Glad I bought it. I know much more about the case now.

I really enjoyed this story and most of the characters. I thought the character of Elfreida very much a Pollyanna type of personality. I liked the story but thought oscar should have taken longer to grieve before making such huge decisions. Very good story. Not giving it 5 stars because I found the reader annoying at first but seemed to get accustomed to it. I might avoid a book read by that reader in future.
