Poignant with bits of humor. I always love Steve West's narration of the Grimes mysteries.

I enjoyed The Late Scholar and was looking forward to Ms. Walsh's version of The Attenbury Emeralds story. It started out ok but quickly became a dialogue of reminiscences and by chapter 8 I had to give it up. Disappointing as the author certainly can write and has captured the characters of Peter and Harriet well I think. Edward Petherbridge, narrating, has played the role of Wimsey and I enjoyed his performances. But he seems a bit depressed with this story. Perhaps I should have persevered and read on but I have put the book aside.

I love this author's stories. So engaging. Above The Bay of Angels has a good story and some points of historical interest. Great performance. Hope there's another book in this series coming soon.

I thought I would enjoy this unofficial sequel. Made it to chapter 3 but couldn't go any further. There was no plot, just whining thoughts from Scarlett. Also I didn't care for the narrator. Sorry.

Cute and quirky characters. A loosely coherent plot. And the quaint "typical" English village that always serves well as a setting. Very nicely performed. A good, light hearted read and I will buy more in this series.

This is a great novel which I read a number of years ago. Very well performed. But I think due to the complexity of the story lines, it's a better read than listen.

I really enjoyed this book and will listen again. Troy Alleyn is a favourite character. The narrator, James Saxon, is delightful!

A favourite Mary Stewart story, but the narration really disappointed. I kept listening because of the story but will avoid this narrator on another book.
