Je l’ai beaucoup aimé. Not a gory story just a story about civilian life in occupied France.

My favourite post-apocalyptic book so far

“One Second After “ was my favourite post-apocalyptic book until I listened to Alas Babylon.
This one is a classic. It has all (and I mean) all that a prepper might wish for in a novel.
Even though it was written in 1959 it is a timeless classic.
Narrator was perfect for this book.
Very happy with my purchase.

My second favourite SHTF book. Top spot goes to “One Second After” but this book comes in second.
Most SHTF books have very cheesy stories where the main characters always manage to have all the gear they need to get home safely. This story has some of that but it’s more credible than other books.
I enjoyed it and I found it very useful in helping me decide what’s important to have at home and in my vehicle in case of emergencies.

Very decent SHTF survival story

The story Started strong but then evolved into the typical SHTF story of acquiring a bunch of weapons etc.
Good book overall for those interested in this genre. 4 stars

I was looking for a book like One Second After and I thought this book would be it but it was not even close.
I wanted a book about surviving some sort of disaster but this book was about life a few years after such an event.

Cheesy survival story

If this book was turned into a movie it would be a cheesy SHTF one. The main character manages to find a pistol, shotgun and rifle on the first day. The main character’s voice is super annoying. After having read “One Second After” I was looking for another similar SHTF survival type of movie. This one was a big disappointment.

Excellent book.

This is an amazing book to listen to. A lot of graphic details of the atrocities of war. Young people should read this book in order to get a glimpse pf what other generations had to endure.
