There's nothing like a good deli, and the Red River Deli in Trenton is one of the best. World-famous for its pastrami, cole slaw, and for its disappearing managers. Over the last month, three have vanished from the face of the earth, and the only clue in each case is one shoe that's been left behind. The police are baffled. Lula is convinced that it's a case of alien abduction. Whatever it is, they'd better figure out what's going on before they lose their new manager, Ms. Stephanie Plum.

I have been a loyal Janet Evanovich for years, have read every Stephanie Plum book. I am actually still in shock, in total disbelief. This book is terrible. Stephanie is even more negative, self deprecating and pathetic in this book. Instead of turning Stephanie's character around, building her up, creating a team dynamic with Ranger, no it just goes downhill fast. It is time to stop this series Mrs. Evanovich. I still cannot believe how this series turned into garbage. :( Just terrible, and the worst part is that I saved my credit for this book. :(

On a chilly February night, during a screening of Psycho in midtown, someone sunk an ice pick into the back of Chanel Rylan's neck, then disappeared quietly into the crowds of drunks and tourists in Times Square. To Chanel's best friend, who had just slipped out of the theater for a moment to take a call, it felt as unreal as the ancient black-and-white movie up on the screen. But Chanel's blood ran red, and her death was anything but fictional.
