This was such a solid listen!

The world has changed so much during Covid - good and bad. With Covid going to go away eventually (replaced?) what will be different going forward, and what have we learned since?

Tech boomed and is more essential than ever. Tech is just a tool. How do we make it better for society?
Or do we really want this? Really, do we want this?

The power that tech has over us is incredible. The younger one is, the more control it has over them. They may not know it.
They can change that or make it more beneficial.

Think about the world before the cell phones. We still managed to survive, even thrive. I am not saying let's toss our phones.
Let's do better.

This is a great perspective on what HAS happened. What will happen is up to us.

The reader is funny, and has great tone.

I hope there is a follow up, because already this audio book is a bit dated.

Still worth it!

A very interesting listen.

I knew a bit about Jordy-P before this purchase was made. The controversy about his views that have been in the news.

Time to listen to another side of all of this.

Most of him comments seem to be based on reason (his reason) and were well communicated.

Really good stuff in here, common sense when you think about it objectively. And useful in life - somewhat being mindful, psychologist style.

While thinking objectively is great there is the need to bring your emotions into thought. That makes it personal

Some concepts I disagree with but understand how he sees them.

"The evidence shows..." statement is a kind of mantra in this book. Evidence points at something that may not always be so. One can always gather more evidence. It is more the evidence at the time. There are always studies refuting studies. What is really the problem? Not sure we got to that.

It is obvious he is religious. Which makes me wonder on the ideology he speaks of, and the ones he follow.

We are all complicated and simple.

This is worth the the time to listen to.

Wow!

This was a great revelation on how I am the product. How I am getting compromised and definitely not compensated. The big tech companies make a lot of money off my data. Which I gave away.

There are people born today that have their whole lives exposed to the big tech and ad companies. Even if I am not active on social media, my friends can give up my data. Can I ever get my data back?

What is stopping a vendor fro gleaning my income and making decisions based on it? Raising the prices when they think they can get away with it. Filtering my news to see their view. Basically taking my identity and adjust it to what 'they' want. Or selling info for something criminal?

All because I let them. Free in price is not the same as having liberty.
Altruism and capitalism do not co exist.

While I can see some value in personalizing info, there is nothing personal when done by a algorithms.

Maybe some company will see this data to help the individual first, then derive their benefit.
The example of Apple for instance, building their brand on privacy. (I am not saying Apple is good, just less evil)

Really worth a listen with concrete steps on how to change.

Or, if enough people insist to their politicians, it could changed to something better.

It is scary that we think that the copious medical education for docs is lacking.

I'm more surprised that there isn't an uproar in the medical world about this.

While the story itself is simple with nothing ordinary, it is a reminder. A journey of going to many places then a final destination is reached, where everything needed, and most importantly desired is.

This might sound lame, this is a nice story.

A man finds peace.

I am non religious, and the story is relatable to anyone.

The narration is fantastic, even peaceful.

It is short and a nice kind lesson for oneself.

(oddly, I made this selection after reading about it from another book, which was impactful, yet I have forgotten the title)

This guy created the life he wanted or just accepted what was going to happen. Perhaps a bit of both.

Excellent narration. Excellent story telling. It is inspiring. The McConaughey twang grows on me.

This story, might be able to replace a therapist or two.

Not a Hollywood gossip tale of drugs, displays of wealth, sex and exploitation.

A guy who is filled with gratitude, who chooses to be competent, not ashamed of his mistake, keeps learning, has a heart and likes keeping balance. Then imbalance.....

Love the bumpers stickers - traveling wisdom.

For a short audio book, I got way more out of it than the clock suggested. I hope to hear the follow up in 10 more years. Or sooner.

All red lights eventually get to green and back again. Enjoy the ride!

Just incredible.
From his early roots, to being the first half white president - just incredible.
Balancing the professional political role, and being part of the family. His wife and kids really made this guy.
Bin Laden killed on his watch (oops Spoiler) to the litany of the world events that occurred under his watch, incredibly described.

He has a great voice (but sooo slow, had to listen to it at 1.5x)

Too much good to more to say. And you can read about it on the web.

But hearing the play by play in inner thoughts - gold!

Get it.

Awaiting volume 2!

There was good info in here. The future is going to be fantastic and we have to prepared.

Really good thing to think about in terms of regulation.

The voice seemed very robotic at times, or perhaps that was on purpose.

I hope there are follow up as time moves on.

This is going to be a hot topic
