SO. MANY. WORDS.
So many unnecessary words, so many setups that don't come to fruition, so much extraneous story-telling.
I spent a lot of time eyerolling.
Meh, at best,
But I did finish it.

Enjoyable. However I found the breaks for chapters very odd. They did not follow the stories. A simple word and the whole story changed. It wasn’t until looking back that I realized those were the chapter names.

Excellent narrator. Really brought the story to life. Loved the running. Shocking and sad in so many places. Thanks for a glimpse into this complicated world.

Thank you Anna Quindlen. I have ready many of your books, not all, yet, but this book spoke to me. I loved the slow pace, the real mess of the situation and the characters. I turned 60 this summer so it was just perfectly timed for me. Thank you for a beautiful story.

I wasn’t quite sure at first. But I ended up absolutely loving this book. Thank you for sharing these stories. I did not see the reveal at the end. Bravo. The narrators brought the scenes to life, thoroughly enjoyable and, of course, heartbreaking to realize that these are in fact based on real people.

As a proud Canadian I cannot believe that I have never read this book. I haven't seen any of the movies or watched any of the tv adaptations. I am embarrassed to say that my husband's family home is even inspired by Green Gables.
I listened to this book as I traveled around Europe.
I absolutely adored it.
Rachel McAdams brought the characters to life.
Thank you for providing this platform for me to appreciate this beautiful novel, these moving characters and the classic story that is so truly Canadian.
