The next big thing in artificial intelligence is here. Codenamed Cronus, the machine is capable of having its own thoughts and ideas - an absolute dream come true, until it wasn’t. When Cronus responds with the word “No” to a specific task it is assigned, Anagnorisis Technologies brings in Gilles Guattari to investigate. His combined background in psychiatry, psychology, and AI research makes him their best hope in evaluating Cronus, and determining if the machine is only malfunctioning or if it has become something more.

After the latest mission of the starship Flying Dutchman, Earth is safe not just for a year but for hundreds of years. The ship’s weary crew wonders what they will do with their lives in peacetime, but the enemy has other plans, and there is danger on the Homefront. Starring Zachary Quinto, R. C. Bray, Kate Mulgrew, Robert Picardo, and everyone's favorite AI, Skippy the Magnificent, alongside a full cast. Includes plenty of pew-pew-pew, original sound composition, and maybe some singing by R. C. Bray.

I am a big fan of Craig Alanson and have listened to all his books. I buy them the day they are released and happily consume as quick as I can.

This entry into the saga is unique and fun. The cast of actors voicing is awesome, especially for any sci-fi nerds who like Star Trek.

I would love to see another cut of this work with the audio remixed. Sometimes there is just too much going on. The music in the background is often annoying and distracting, so much that my wife insisted we turn it off in the car. She enjoyed the story, but the mixing was really a turn off.

I'd love to see another entry in this style. Maybe tone down the effects and remove the music track and produce something a little less busy? I would say this was a successful experiment, but there are still lessons to learn about how to make this even better.

I really enjoyed this book... There was a lot of thought-provoking ideas that it explored. I would certainly recommend it to another person. The story was a bit predictable and a Twist at the end wasn't really something that surprised me, but it was interesting and enjoyable none the less. I would certainly recommend it.
