WARNING
Reviewed: 2021-01-02
I usually write good reviews. You need to be warned about this book. Despite this having great reviews this book is actually a waste of your time and your credit. In this book you will learn: - How to not look at your phone in the morning... but not how to achieve anything during the week. - How to eat less donuts... but not how to have lasting weight loss. - How to save $10 each week, but not how to get wealthy. - How to relax coming home but not how to have a lasting relationship. In this book you will - Get unactionable anecdotal studies and stories - Get 95% filler and 5% useful information hidden somewhere randomly in the book. - Hear the word "simple strategies" 100x before you actually hear the underwhelming obvious strategy itself. You probably already know how to build habits. Just set Goals, Take action on them, Problem-solve obstacles, and push through to the result <--- That will change your life. Not a 5 hour listen of anecdotal stories and obvious strategies. This book is academic. This book is NOT actionable. This book is mental jerking. If this review resonates with you go online and read the summary first and then decide on it, because this book has a summary's worth of useful info. This book will be a waste of your time and a waste of your credit. You've been warned.

The first book of its kind, Peak Performance combines the inspiring stories of top performers across a range of capabilities - from athletic, to intellectual, to artistic - with the latest scientific insights into the cognitive and neurochemical factors that drive performance in all domains. In doing so, Peak Performance uncovers new linkages that hold promise as performance enhancers but have been overlooked in our traditionally-siloed ways of thinking.

Book is about balance, NOT peak performance
Reviewed: 2018-03-09
This book is titled peak performance but spends all of its time talking about burn out and stress, NOT peak performance. Authors do not have skin in the game. So it's just observational insights and a mashup of old research. People reading this book will become more balanced. Not better at peak performance.
