- A True Story of Vengeance and Survival
- Written by: John Vaillant
- Narrated by: John Vaillant
- Length: 12 hrs and 5 mins
It’s December 1997, and a man-eating tiger is on the prowl outside a remote village in Russia’s Far East. The tiger isn’t just killing people, it’s annihilating them, and a team of men and their dogs must hunt it on foot through the forest in the brutal cold. As the trackers sift through the gruesome remains of the victims, they discover that these attacks aren’t random: the tiger is apparently engaged in a vendetta. Injured, starving, and extremely dangerous, the tiger must be found before it strikes again.
Read the book first and enjoyed the audiobook

Although the main plot line for this book was fantastic, the constant digressions and historical footnotes took away the punch of a great story. I struggled to stay awake through hours of descriptive prose that had little connection to the main plot. Maybe this would read better? As an audiobook made me exclaim in a phythonesque fashion: GET ON WITH IT!

- A Climber's Journey of Endurance, Risk, and Going Beyond Limits
- Written by: Tommy Caldwell
- Narrated by: Johnathan McClain
- Length: 13 hrs and 27 mins
On January 14, 2015, Tommy Caldwell, along with his partner, Kevin Jorgeson, summited what is widely regarded as the hardest climb in history - Yosemite’s nearly vertical 3,000-foot Dawn Wall, after 19 days on the route. This engrossing memoir chronicles the journey of a boy with a fanatical mountain-guide father who was determined to instill toughness in his son to a teen whose obsessive nature drove him to the top of the sport-climbing circuit.
