He is a lecturer, and these are done as lectures, that is where the performance suffers a little, I also found his pace excruciatingly slow but of course you can always speed it up. But that's the only bad part!

An excellent survey of mesoamerican indigenous studies, Dr Barnhart choses to focus on the people of Mesoamerica rather than the people who unveiled it. Tackling each subject from a variety of angles, and forthcoming about his own biases, it was interesting, honest and comprehensive from start to finish,.. well as comprehensive as 6000 yrs of history can be in compact into 23 hours.

I certainly recommend this listening!

As fascinating as all of his books are I found the information in this one to be more applicable than some of his others. It is far from self help, he isn't telling you how this can improve your life, you gotta figure out how to apply the information yourself, but it was excellent, I think of the concept of "desirable difficulty" and what that means in my life and has been great for giving context to me an my brother who are both dyslexic.

I have been spending a lot of time recently on 20th century Japanese literature, and with that exploring large themes in Japanese history. This great collection of historical fiction brought to life the folk hero Musashi on many dimensions and the details and overall length of the story I think helped to give me a better understanding of early Edo Japan. The performance was excellent and they story thoroughly enjoyable, 53.5 hours well spent!

I do not think this book could be more timely, and I wish I took it's lessons more seriously, I am working on that by the grace of God.

An excellent expansion on a great pithy thought of Dallas Willard.

Fully enthralled in the fiction philosophy of Chesterton I found this book very very enjoyable, though I must say I did not enjoy Chesterton's end as much as his journey the means may justify the ends on this one and the presentation left nothing wanting.

Not sentimental or prideful/egotistical "self-help" nonsense, a very good practical and meaningful look into our brain and the practices that have helped me be a better version of myself.

Very helpful, engaging, well written and well presented.

Thank you Drew Dyck, I appreciate you for more that just your Dyck Picks now!

like 8 or so mini Hard Core Histories rolled into one, touching from the dawn of history to boarders of the post modern world it is excellent. No thesis, no big idea, but a grand cohesive theme begging the uncomfortable questions of our life, our past and our future, and expanding upon those questions in the balanced way his shows have always demonstrated. History, philosophy, and Dan Carlin fans alike cannot go wrong with this purchase.

also despite the fact that it cheaper than most other worth while books on Audible, it really makes you appreciate how much is given for free in the regular shows, and how little is asked for the whole back catalogue.

I'm looking forward to one day returning to this book to see all the things I missed the first time, and challenging, eye opening, and deeply insightful book, my only qualm is that it's not read the Wright himself.

free from some of the heady crap of academia, was not challenged intilectually by the concepts and stories in this book, but my heart was deeply moved and troubled by my status quo. I recommend this book for every Christians reading collection.
