Story
A bet between the gods Hermes and Apollo leads them to grant human consciousness and language to a group of dogs overnighting at a Toronto veterinary clinic. Suddenly capable of more complex thought, the pack is torn between those who resist the new ways of thinking, preferring the old dog ways, and those who embrace the change. The gods watch from above as the dogs venture into their newly unfamiliar world, as they become divided among themselves, as each struggles with new thoughts and feelings.

I loved the story, the charactera: both furry and human and the setting (good 'ol T.O.).
For the author to be able to describe goose droppings from a dog's perspective...texture, taste and most importantly smell sold me on this book. One of my top 5 reads of the year!
I strongly recommend it to non dog owners as well...it will make you want to adopt a four legged buddy.

Story
A brother and sister are orphaned in an isolated cove on Newfoundland's northern coastline. Their home is a stretch of rocky shore governed by the feral ocean, by a relentless pendulum of abundance and murderous scarcity. Still children with only the barest notion of the outside world, they have nothing but the family's boat and the little knowledge passed on haphazardly by their mother and father to keep them.

At nearly 70, she feels she's earned a peaceful retirement. Story
In June 2013, three upstanding citizens of a small Cape Breton town cold-bloodedly murdered their neighbor, Phillip Boudreau, at sea. Boudreau was a Cape Breton original - an inventive small-time criminal who had terrorized and entertained Petit de Grat for two decades. As many local people have said, if those fellows hadn't killed him, someone else would have. This audiobook offers a dramatic narrative set in a unique, lovingly drawn setting, where a story about one small community has universal resonance.

Story
For 12 generations, when the fish were plentiful and when they all but disappeared, the inhabitants of this remote island in Newfoundland have lived and died together. Now, in the second decade of the 21st century, they are facing resettlement, and each has been offered a generous compensation package to leave. But the money is offered with a proviso: everyone has to go; the government won't be responsible for one crazy coot who chooses to stay alone on an island.

Story
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

An amazing story that sadly brings the Trilogy albeit in a neat little ending. Questions get answered, as a reader I do appreciate that.
The story is rich with details and explanations that the first 2 books brought to surface but did not answer.
I highly recommend this whole Series to any SciFi, Bio or Anthro fan...it really does create a world that peeks many curiosities.
