Anne of Green Gables
- Written by: Lucy Maud Montgomery
- Narrated by: Rachel McAdams
- Length: 9 hrs and 22 mins
With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

I've read the book a couple times in my life and have watched the Megan Follows mini-series several times over the years. I was looking for a comforting book to listen to on a long drive. This was a fantastic find. Rachel McAdams does a phenomenal job of giving life to the tale whilst remaining true to the spirit of the characters. It was truly delightful! I highly recommend revisiting the story through this recording, or giving it a listen if you have never been introduced to Anne. It is filled with laughter and imagination along with some heart wrenching moments. The story is delivered beautifully. I can only hope Rachel McAdams reads more in the Anne series. I'm waiting for the follow-up!
