With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams ( The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery's beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams' voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century.

As a child and as a young adult, I tried to read this book, unsuccessfully, many times. Bored me. But I thought now, at 55+, I would try again. Rachel McAdams made all the difference. She brought Anne to life. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know the quick minded, quirky, lovable Anne and my how times have changed. Wonderful classic, so marvelously read.

Not a fan of sci-fi, but I loved this book. Of course you have to be open-minded but this story tries to address any questions you might have before you have them. It's written for any reader not just the sci-fi enthusiast...so I could enjoy the story without having to rewind to figure out what was said. I was quickly hooked and looked forward to rush hour traffic just so I could continue listening. Book 2 is already in my cart.

It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Then the shooters arrived. The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But one person wasn't satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait - and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.

Read a Nora Roberts book years ago and was disappointed, but this one sounded good. And that it was. I loved the characters and how, both they and their relationships grew. A great who dunnit with a touch of romance, and a sexy hero with a lot of nice and just the right amount of naughty.

The story itself was great. Just when I thought I knew who did it, I'd learn something new that pointed to someone else. It had me guessing right to the end. Now let's talk characters. All the characters and relationships were dysfunctional. Liars, cheaters, stalkers, abusers...and that's the friends and family package. Waking up next to a dead body is story enough for me. #Audible1

Very interesting story and well narrated. Of all the books I have read and listened to, it is the first one set in my humble city. I was so drawn into the story and its various accurately described settings, I felt I might run into the main characters at any time. Caught my attention from the first paragraph. Over and over I wondered what I would do if faced with the same issues experienced by the characters. Three very small pet peeves: it's Pem-bin-a Highway not Pem-bee-na Highway; in Winnipeg we call it Tim's or Timmy's not Tim Hortons; and we order Pizza, not a pie. Otherwise, great listen!
