- Written by: Chris Voss
- Narrated by: Michael Kramer
- Length: 8 hrs and 7 mins
After a stint policing the rough streets of Kansas City, Missouri, Chris Voss joined the FBI, where his career as a hostage negotiator brought him face-to-face with a range of criminals, including bank robbers and terrorists. Reaching the pinnacle of his profession, he became the FBI's lead international kidnapping negotiator. Never Split the Difference takes you inside the world of high-stakes negotiations and into Voss' head.
Insightful and practical.

Worked for me!
I heard Chris Voss speaking on a pod cast and decided to download the audible version of the book. In an email and text conversation with with a car dealership owner, I was able to use the techniques presented and secure a FULL refund of a vehicle that I purchased 1.7 years previous in which the engine deteriorated and failed. I’d also used the techniques to have an oil change paid for in full when a cap under the hood was broken on the vehicle. Both interactions were not as easy as you’d think. People (especially business) have trouble being fair and just as a rule. It requires gentle negotiations to subdue the appetite of the ego. As a female I’d recommend learning these techniques to improve all business interactions that require grit and guts. I’m a fan!!
